The Company

Omnibushandel Nord was founded on 15 November 1972 in Flensburg by Alfons Gorzelniaski and Gerd Detlefsen.

In the early years, buses were mostly sold in northern Germany and Scandinavia. Thanks to new media opportunities, potential customers are now located worldwide.

Due to the increasing number of sold buses, Gorzelniaski opened an authorised repair shop for Kässbohrer vehicles while Detlefsen acted as a sales agent for Kässbohrer in northern Germany.

In the early 1980s, it became necessary to build a representative showroom. In December 1985, the new building was ready, located in the city of Flensburg.

The building has a size of 42.3 by 50.7 meters and is the centrepiece of a rather large property. The self-supporting construction has enough space for about 22 buses, three more buses fit into the maintenance hall next to the main building. With a tiled floor and three offices as well as other two social rooms, the whole building is insulated and can be heated.

Most importantly, the company offers pre-owned SETRA buses, but there are other brands as well, such as Daimler Benz, MAN, Neoplan or Ernst Auwärter. After arriving, all vehicles are thoroughly cleaned and repaired, if damaged. The technical part is carried out by SETRA service partner Gorzelniaski; the company is located on the adjacent property.

After finishing all refurbishing works, the bus is brought to the main showroom. Equipped with eight windows, potential customers may even have a look on the weekend.

After turning 65, both founders handed the company over to their successors. Since 1 July 1995, the company is led by Michael Detlefsen and Gunnar Witte. Detlefsen also heads the SETRA sales office, taken over from his father.
